In praise of cats!

At home I have a book called in praise of cats. In it, it has lots of little sayings, these are my favourite.

Cats are smarter than dogs, you’ll never get eight cats to pull a sled through the snow.

There is no snooze button on a cat that wants breakfast.

Dogs look up at us cats look down on us only pigs treat us as equals.

Cats climb trees so they can look down on almost any other animal, its also the reason they hate birds.

A clever cat eats cheese and breaths down rat holes with baited breath.

A cat can work out mathematically the exact place to sit that will cause the most inconvenience.

My goals for 2008

I aim to finish work on time. To achieve this I will stay on task and find ways to write faster. This term I will push myself to keep up with the rest of the band(to learn the band music also)To do this I will practise my flute harder and longer. This year I also aim to get a honours or distinction in my dancing exams.whitch I will achieve by pushing my self .The first half of this year I aim to become level 3 in maths. To do this I must stay on task.I also want to be able to play softball well by the end of term2 at a maximum.I’m still not to sure how to achieve this.

my poetic writing

For homework we had to do poetic piece of writing.

There is a door in front of me; it’s a pure white with catching violet engraving. The sun smiles down on this door as I turn its rusted door handle. The broken lock rattles as the door slowly swings open and I step into a world of peace and happiness. A large forest full of oak and maple trees stood hiding from the outsiders a beautiful city. A hare ran past leaving a light cloud of dust streaming behind it. As I let go of the door handle a soft breeze blew it shut with a quiet creak. A mob of kangaroos and their joeys stood sleeping beside an old log cabin. Birds of every colour perch on the roofs of large cottages and trees. There was a building larger than the rest with a Red Cross signalling it was a hospital. As I walk through this wondrous world I  noticed that the houses were not all parallel as they were back home but just dotted around the hidden city it was quiet, unnaturally quiet so I walked up to a large yellow cottage and knocked on the door. No sound came from inside. I tiptoed round the back of the house and peeked through the window. All I could see inside was a bed with small lump formed into it. I turned around so I was facing the cows in the paddock, they to were asleep. I questioned my self for a while and then realised that this must be there night time as this was a different world that I was in, different to home. I calculated the time in my head, I had gone through the door around late afternoon and I’d been here just over half an hour which meant that early morning farmers would soon be getting up to milk the cows over in the paddock. I decided to continue my wandering. The lush grass tickled when I trod upon it. Suddenly I heard familiar squawking above me, I looked up a saw birds of brilliant greens, yellows and blues. Budgies. Lots of them, all different colours. Once they had passed I continued walking and looking around I saw a cave, from this distance the only detail I could see was deep dark cracks etched into the surface and as I crept closer I noticed it was the only detail on the cave. I cautiously climbed through the cave trying to avoid slipping on the rocks. I stepped out onto soft green grass and looked around there were ducks cleaning their feathers. A wide river cut through the middle of the landing but the most stunning sight of all was a large rock cliff with a great frothing water fall feeding the river the fresh water I bent down and sipped some of the water. It tasted perfect, like cold fresh apple juice. I started to feel tired and drowsy, so trudging over to a corner of the landing I lay down beneath a tree.

dads interesting job

My dad works at waikeria prison, but hes also got a ‘hobby job’. He is part of Kevins racing crew. Kevin is a rally driver, dad helps crew for him and once co drived for him. Its fun for dad to be part of the crew because dad sometimes brings home the rally car or truck for repair. Its also great because we can go to different places like hawkes bay and christchurch. Were able to see rally cars up close and ride in them (or the truck) and watch the rallys. But now they have sold the truck and (i think) all 3 cars.
